this is the latest retrofit we did using FX-R projector on 2010 brand new Nissan Altima. the new Altima uses materiel very close to epoxy to seal the headlight now so it was quite challenging taking about the headlight.  So it was definitely not something you would want to try without prior retrofitting experience.

Since we are in canada, there is the DRL issue we need to address. Originally the DRL is running off the high beam, but our FX-R projector has very good high beam capability.  Therefore, to have the FX-R high beam work properly we rerouted the DRL so it would run on the low beam HID.  And when high beam is triggered, both the projector and original high beam will be on

We use Vantage Electronics HID kit to ensure long term usage without having flickering or premature bulb burn out problem.  The bulb is using D2S style for ease of replacement in the future.  Enjoy the picture, any comments are welcomed

This is another projector retrofit we have done a few weeks ago.  I forgot to take the before picture so I just grab a sample picture online.  on top you see a blue RSX, that would represent what the original headlight looks like.

We have put in Vantage Electronics HID kit, 4300k D2S bulb, and the FX-R projector.  the overall effect is very nice, hope you like it do.

Another Installation for Daytime Running Light with Light Sabre LED DRL.

This time we install it on a Audi A3.  There is a spot available for the installation.  Do you like it?  I do!!

I recently did this big installation.  liked how it turned out.  here are the components installed

this car took me a while….but i am very satisfied on how it looks and sounds.

on a side note, right after installation, i noticed engine noise coming out from the left front speaker. and immediately I was like “what the &^^#%$@# is going on here, i seperated the signal with power all the way.”  then i traced it back to where the crossover unit is located,which is on top of the fuse box of this truck.  and apparently there is some type of EMI going on over there, it’s so strong that it even gets into the speakers through the crossover inductors.  I have never seen anything like these before, but guess there is first time to everything.

The First ever LED light DRL that’s not a christmas light anymore.

Designed and Developed by Vantage Electronics.  this LED bar is each rated at 10W continuously.  This is not your ordinary Christmas light LED daytime running light.  it’s so bright you have to see it to believe it.

the Light Sabre is powered by a dedicated controller that provides constant power and current to ensure the fluctuation of voltage on the car will not damage the LED.  the controller is has a wide input voltage of 9~15V.  also, it’s not like HID light, it’s not sensitive to instability of power. as long as you give it anything between 9~15V, it will turn on instantly.

Dedicated heatsink provides adequate cooling to ensure the longevity of the operating lifetime.  In fact, this Light Sabre has rated lifetime of at least 50000 hours.

Why are we selling for such low price you might ask.  The only reason we are doing this is to get as many kind of cars to install it and we can use the picture to show how awesome it looks on different model of cars!!

First there is excessive engine noise coming out of the speaker when engine is on.  Also, the amp when at high volume would turn it self off after about 10min of playing.  Finally, the bass although is located right behind the driver side, it feels soft and delayed.

Luckily we were able to find out the reasons behind all these problems.  First is the engine noise.  After taking out the panels, for sure I found out that the RCA wire is tied up and ran together with the power wire.  Even the customer has top of line MONSTER cable, it’s still not enough to prevent noise from getting into the signal.  To solve the problem, we completely took out the RCA wire and ran it on the other side of the vehicle.  Guess what, the engine noise is gone.

We also upgraded the ground point.  Originally, it was screwed to the metal by just 2 little screw.  I have seen this style of install several times.  It might look secure, but as time goes by, the screw will start to get loose and you will end up with a bad ground.  Do I need to explain what a bad ground can do?  ^^

Last, the bass performance problem.  The subwoofer he has was an 8″ sub.  The previous installer even made a “custom” ported box for it.  Well, when you listen to the sub, it’s slow and sloppy, so the tuning frequency and the box volume is definitely off, and my feeling is it’s too big.  Plus the customer listens to dance music and techno music, so the last thing he needs was slow and off-beat bass.  I recommended him to just get a matching sealed box, that way he will be surprised on what he has been missing.

Just finished the whole installation over the weekend.  here are the thing done:

- painted the center console to black to match the interior more

- installed the Alpine blackbird navigation system with the screen.

- replaced the Pioneer AV unit to JVC AV unit.

- added under glow light to footrest area.

The blackbird navigation unit is installed inside the armrest storage and wired to the dedicated screen at the original cup holder space.  The screen is actually a touch screen so you can pretty much control everything from the it without touching the navigation unit.  for DVD entertainment, the JVC AV unit is hooked up to the additional screen as well, so both screen in front plays movie at the same time.

this is a retrofit custom installation for Acura RSX.  An aftermarket projector is placed inside the headlight assembly.  The projector comes with angel eye ring too.  somehow that picture doesn’t look as good as real life.   but still looks way better than the stock one.

the customer wanted to have the screen at the cup holder area.  I fabricated a panel out of 2 piece of ABS board and join them together.  wrapped it with vinyl that matches the interior of the car.  it turned out pretty nice.  will have more update when the whole system is done.

Just did an installation to put angel eyes and HID lights into a Mazda 3.  It turned out pretty good so thought I would share it with everyone with some before and after pics. ^^
